‘Let’s Breathe’ – 23rd February 2020 BOOK COURSE

‘Let’s Breathe’ – Respiratory Disorders in Infants & Children

The immature respiratory system of the infant and child makes them vulnerable to various types of respiratory disorders and may set breathing patterns for life.  In this workshop we consider some of the most common presentations and what we, as manual practitioners, can do to support the respiratory system in younger patients.

This is a one day practical workshop where the emphasis is on palpation skills, techniques, practical management and advice rather than in depth anatomy & physiology which participants can study at their leisure.

Morning session : ‘Let’s Breathe’

  • Pathophysiology and mechanisms that may be implicated

This in an Intermediate Level workshop. To get the most out of this course you should:
  • Be able to take a Paediatric case history and understand your legal & professional requirements for treating infants.
  • Understand the basic physiological processes of birth and how this may effect cranial mechanics.
  • Have a basic understanding of the Cranio-sacral approach (Sutherland, Upledger etc.) as many of the techniques covered in this workshop require palpation of the Involuntary Mechanism.
